Zaïri Malcolm and May Elbaz Belschner met while working together on a film set in 2008. They used to knit on their off hours to alleviate the stress of working in the very demanding film industry environment. They used to dream of opening a gathering space where knitters and fiber enthusiast could create and hang out.

While practicing yoga at Mountain Breeze Yoga studio in WIndham May noticed an ideal storefront and the dream became a reality – on December 28th 2018 The Knitting Room opened. With their passion for yarn and fiber May And Zairi sought to open a welcoming space in which they can create and meet new people.

Joining the growing Slow Fashion movement The Knitting Room carries a growing selection of indie yarn brands alongside hand crafted wool garments, soaps and lotions, handbags and accessories and many other items crafted sustainably, ethically and, when possible, locally.

Everyone is welcome to knit, crochet, spin fiber or just have a cup of coffee and relax.
