In 2018, Meadow Blues Coffee, aka Meadow Blues, became the first gourmet coffee shop to debut in the historic district of Chester, NY. In our shop, we celebrate the Blues musical genre, immortalizing Blues history on our walls and on our Pandora and Spotify playlist’s. Meadow Blues is one of few businesses making a home of the open commercial spaces in the quiet nook that is Chester’s Village. In 2016, Chester residents and Blues-Lovers, Gina Stafford and her daughter Simone, hashed through ideas for a coffee shop and how to make it a valuable asset to their community— 2018, here we are. Gina (Big G as her daughter calls her) owns the company and currently has 3 part-time employees. Gina saw a need in her community and provided.
Since inception, our mission has been to support our community while providing a unique, quality product people will enjoy. Not only have we become THE-spot for a delicious morning ‘Cup O’ Dan’, we have also served an important role by providing a new family-friendly social space in our community that isn’t a bar— inviting local residents to showcase their art on our walls, advertise their business, or show off their musical/poetic talent at our open mics. Meadow Blues has also partnered with the local high-school in providing internship opportunities to their students. We play a critical role in local efforts to establish an artistic culture in Chester which is represented by our seat on the Village of Chester Arts Board. In the short time this shop has been open it has made a significant impact in the community and continues to lead by example, not to mention, the coffee and pastries are supreme to anything in our area.
